The passion of christ / Of an old tradition
(3) Finally, there is a story about the Lord's Passion. This is a special kind of sentence that belongs to the oldest part of the Gospel. However, it was not incorporated into Marco's Gospel in its old form. Many things have been added later. Even though it is the oldest legend, the whole is not a live record of the Lord's suffering. Based on the record, it explains the theological facts on it. Thus, in this description, it is possible to distinguish between older and newer ones.

An old tradition; this is Paul's view of the Passion of Christ. Compare Christ's Passion and Death to a sacrificial lamb offered to God as a price for human sin in the Old Testament. Because of the forgiveness of humankind, Christ took the place of everyone and dedicated himself on the cross. This idea of “substitution” appears strongly in Paul's letter.

Daiichi Corinthians 15; 3, 15; 3 Daiichi Thessalonique 5; 10
Galatians 3:13, 2 Corinthians 5; 14-15

However, this concept of Paul is not so common in the Gospels. In other words, when the Gospel was written, Paul's way of thinking was already out of date. Even so, some of the text of the affairs seems to have been drawn from the Old Testament by subtracting a part like “a lamb in place”.

Marco 14-8 …Psalm 41; 10
Marco 14-61, 15-5 ... Isaiah 53; 7
Marco 15-23 ... Psalm 69; 22
Marco 15-24 ... Psalm 22; 19
Marco 15-34 ... Psalm 22; 2

But one important thing here. Marco's author has pulled these passages from the Old Testament, He is not saying that Old Testament prophecies were fulfilled in Christ's passing. He did not quote the Psalms or the book of Isaiah based on the prophecy of the Old Testament to show that it was fulfilled as it was in Jesus' suffering. It is only a statement in the Old Testament that everyone knows well that the Lord Jesus was paying for his sins on behalf of mankind.
