Successful Death

C. Successful death
So what does it mean to testify of Jesus who died on the cross? Now consider the difference between the death of Jesus and the death of others. Until now everyone has died. From now on, everyone must die without exception. Why is only the death of Jesus of Nazareth special among the countless deaths? Until then, there were other, more enlightened, quieter deaths. There must have been many other heroic deaths that were sacrificed for others.Jesus is not such a brilliant man to die. Been put on trial, sentenced to death, he died ashamed. Then, why is only this embarrassing death a problem in Christianity? This comes from the fact that Jesus' death was a crucial death, unlike the death of others. But how do we know that Jesus' death was the only decisive death? Because Jesus' death alone has that guarantee. This is the resurrection experience of the disciples. Usually, death is hard and painful. In Christ's case, the resurrection on the third day alone may seem victory and comfort. But Christ doesn't think so. He has repeatedly stressed that suffering should be. The resurrection of the Lord is not merely a stubborn affair of the endurance of the Passion and the death of the Cross. It is a manifestation of the radiance of Passion.
